Marylin Harris

  • Grinder House Coffee Shop 73 North Main Street Crossville, TN, 38555 United States (map)

Marilyn Harris would be the first to say looks can be deceiving. No one would suspect when meeting Marilyn for the first time that she is a songwriter or that she has written songs titled “I Picture You Naked” or “Put Your Big Girl Panties On”. Marilyn was born in Tullahoma Tennessee where she resides. She is the mother of three children and grandmother of four. Marilyn had been a “closet songwriter” since her early teens. She came out of the closet about eight years ago when she began playing in songwriter open mics and songwriter rounds in Nashville and surrounding areas. Marilyn’s music is a mixture of Rock & Roll, Blues, Folk, Country, Bluegrass, Gospel and Americana. She says that’s because she was influenced by her older sister’s rock & roll records of the ‘50s, the British Evasion and the folk singers of the ‘60s, and the singer songwriters of the ‘70s. Marilyn says, “I just like good music, I don’t really care what you call it”.
